Previous Litter

Stella and Milo became proud parents to five healthy little Westie puppies! After a long night of labor, the first was born at 3:35 am, and the last at 7:50 am.  She gave birth to 4 girls and one boy, weighing between 5.9 and 7.9 ounces.  I sat cross-legged in the box with her the entire time, and she’d come over, lick my face, and stand with her paws on my legs between delivering pups so I could rub her belly.  Although I’ve had two children of my own, it was really something special to fill the birthing coach role and be able to support her.  I prepared for quite some time, read everything I could, and felt I could handle any situation.  I did not, however,  anticipate how hard it would be to sit cross-legged for 4 plus hours when you’re over 40.  Stella and I both had some recovering to do!
